Non-Slip Strips help the Cairngorm Reindeer

Our Non-Slip Decking Strips have passed the test for strength and durability, used recently to replace chicken wire on slippery boardwalks at the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, Glenmore, Aviemore. 

Situated in the centre of the Cairngorms National Park, with beautiful views of the Cairngorm Mountains are Britain's only free-ranging reindeer herd. Chris explains: 

"We are the only free ranging herd of reindeer in the UK with the reindeer being self sufficient for much of the year free to roam the sub-arctic habitat of the Cairngorm Mountains. The reindeer take it in turns to be in our 1200 acre fenced in hill enclosure where we take daily guided hill trips."

"We installed the grip strips as the wire we used on the boardwalks kept wearing out and the reindeer are a big fan of using the boardwalks and the non-slip strips. Having evolved to save energy wherever possible they like to walk via the easiest possible route."

"I now use grip strips. Our old wire fencing/chicken wire we had used for grip is just disintegrating up there with the heavy wear from visitors and Scottish weather so I've replaced it with Anti-Slip Decking Strips."

"The reindeer use the boardwalks and anti-slip grip strips every day when they're in our summer to early winter hill enclosure and they love to save energy by taking the easiest path across the hillside."
