Overview
Mini Mesh GRP Grating – 30mm Thick - Safe, Durable Flooring for Platforms, Walkways, and More
Mini Mesh GRP Grating, also known as Micro-Mesh Grating, offers an advanced flooring solution for platforms, walkways, flooring, and covers. With a 12mm x 12mm open mesh area, this grating ensures that objects as small as 13mm cannot fall through, making it a reliable choice for safety-sensitive environments. It meets the European 15mm ball falling test requirement, ensuring it provides secure and safe flooring in high-traffic or hazardous areas.
The smaller holes in this grating also allow smooth movement for small-wheeled trolleys, prams, and wheelchairs, making it a practical solution for spaces where accessibility is essential. Whether you're installing it on industrial platforms, walkways, or commercial floors, the Mini Mesh GRP Grating provides exceptional slip resistance while offering a smooth, safe surface for everyday use.
Mini Mesh GRP Grating is a high-performance alternative to steel mesh grating. With its proven reliability in demanding environments, it offers outstanding corrosion resistance and resilience to extreme temperatures. This makes it the perfect flooring solution for aggressive, corrosive environments, as well as areas exposed to wet, oily, or high-footfall conditions.
Our grating products are manufactured using Type O - Orthophthalic Polyester resin, ensuring long-lasting strength and durability. If required, we can use alternative resins such as Isophthalic Polyester or Vinylester, providing tailored solutions for specific environmental conditions.
Technical Specifications
- Anti Slip Surface - tested in accordance with BS 7976 with slip potential rated 'Extremely Low', achieving only 5% reduction after 1 million footfalls. Durable 10-year guarantee for normal use environments.
- Fire Resistant - meets Class B fire rating in accordance with BS EN 13501.
- Lightweight - only 1/3 the weight of steel, GRP Grating is a convenient, fast, and safe installation material, reducing the risk of manual handling injuries, and can be easily cut on-site without the need for hot works permits.
- Non-Conductive - GRP acts as an insulator making it ideal for application in and around HV plant and equipment. It can also be supplied with a carbon finish to provide static discharge characteristics needed in electro-static sensitive environments.

Specification
Mini Mesh GRP Grating
It is designed to be long lasting with a high strength to weight ratio. Moulded Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) grating is formed using continuous interwoven glass fibres as reinforcement material and resin as the matrix with continuous solidification through a mould system. The uniform construction provides excellent bi-directional mechanical properties.

Slip resistant
Anti-slip gritted grating has quartz crystal bonded to the top surface ensuring an extremely durable and slip resistant surface. This type of grating has one of the highest degrees of slip resistance measured for a walking surface.
A laboratory slipperiness assessment was undertaken by the Health & Safety Laboratory (UK) in accordance with guidelines recommended by United Kingdom Slip Resistance Group (Issue 2,2000) and protocols outlined in BS 7976:2.

Corrosion and chemical resistant
Corrosion is a major problem within industries such as chemical, steel, food and beverage, water and wastewater, power – the list goes on. GRP Grating is particularly designed to provide safe, long-lasting, economical and worry-free solutions in environments where chemicals and other corrosives attack metal, wood and similar materials.
All grating products listed have a Type O - Orthophthalic Polyester resin finish. Depending on the environment, resins such as Isophthalic polyester, or Vinylester may be used in the manufacture of our Grating.
Grating Corrosion and Chemical Resistance Guide

Your fibreglass grating guide
Grating is used as a surface for industrial flooring – including walkways, platforms, flooring, trench covers, ramps and cable trough covers.
It's beneficial to a variety of industries, including chemical, pharmaceutical, offshore, water and power – because it provides a safe, slip-resistant surface that doesn't collect liquids or other hazardous material.
Where as traditional materials like metal and wood are subject to corrosion and chemical attack, fibreglass grating offers a safe, long-lasting and economical way to protect your walk-ways and platforms.
Sui Generis can mould fibreglass grating to your specifications, as well as provide pultruded grating in GRP fibreglass and a cutting and installation service.
In addition to comparing favourable to steel grating on price, fibreglass grating doesn't require any maintenance, and retains its slip-resistance in excess of 20 years.
Why use fibreglass to make grating?
Because it's the ideal material for heavy foot traffic and withstanding industrial environments.
Not only is fibreglass grating slip-resistant, but it also has ergonomic properties. Its slight natural resilience makes it more comfortable to stand on for longer – and easier on the back than hard steel or concrete.
GRP fibreglass is also impact-resistant and can be customised to withstand the harshest industrial conditions – from corrosive chemicals to high-heat environments.
Fibreglass is both safe and cost effective, and with a 20+ year lifespan, it's the clear choice when you need grating.
Are there other benefits to fibreglass grating?
Yes. These are just some of the properties of GRP grating.
- Slip resistant
- Corrosion resistant
- Chemical resistant
- Ergonomic
- Maintenance-free
Does your fibreglass grating conform to regulations?
Yes. Both our concave and gritted grating surpasses the minimum requirements of the 'low potential for slip' rating specified by the UK Slip Resistance Group Guide 2000.
Our grating also has a Class 1 flame spread rating of 25 or less.
