Overview
Blended Colour Non-Slip Sheet Flooring – Safety with a Natural Aesthetic
Designed for walkways, gangways, access ramps, industrial floors, bridges, landing areas, platforms, piers, and pontoons, our blended colour non-slip flooring provides exceptional slip resistance while maintaining a natural, aesthetically pleasing finish. Perfect for environments where safety and appearance matter, these floor sheets blend seamlessly with wooden, stone, or outdoor surfaces, making them ideal for parks, heritage sites, public spaces, and commercial settings.
Manufactured from heavy-duty GRP, Safe Tread blended colour anti-slip flooring features a high-traction, gritted surface that remains effective in wet, icy, and high-traffic conditions. Unlike temporary solutions such as anti-slip coatings, paint, or tape, our GRP floor sheets offer long-lasting durability, requiring minimal maintenance while withstanding heavy footfall, impact, and harsh weather conditions.
Available in a range of natural tones, our blended colour GRP floor sheets are designed to complement woodland walkways, decking areas, piers, and outdoor structures. They can also be installed over existing surfaces, providing an instant, long-term safety upgrade with minimal disruption.

Slip resistancy test results - Pendulum test
Safe Tread anti-slip floor sheets achieved the highest classification available of extremely low slip risk when subjected to the Pendulum test method. This method is the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) preferred method for assessing floor slipperiness in both dry and water wet conditions.
Product tested July 2016.

Installation
Non-Slip Floor Sheets installation guide
Handling
Safe handling practices should always be employed. Store the covers flat upside down.
Cutting Non-Slip Floor Sheets (where required)
Safe Tread Anti-Slip Floor Sheets can be easily cut to size or shape using orbital cutting equipment with either a stone or diamond blade. Cutting should be carried out externally or where there is dust extraction/suitable ventilation and appropriate protective equipment should be worn.
Preparation
Any damage or undulations to the receiving substrate should be remedied to ensure that the floor sheets will be on a flat and even surface. If using an adhesive the substrate must be clean and dry, free from oils and grease, dust and loose particles. The underside of the sheet must also be clean and dry. Where the substrate is contaminated (i.e. by oil) or its surface strength is wanting, mechanical fixing is essential. Prior to applying an adhesive it's advisable to first carry out a dry-fit to ensure a suitable fit.
We recommend a double fixing method for installing Safe Tread Anti-Slip Floor Sheets consisting of a high strength adhesive (Sataback adhesive sealant, supplied by us or similar) and mechanical fixings.
Mechanical fixing Non-Slip Floor Sheets
Safe Tread Anti-Slip Floor Sheets can be drilled and secured with pozi self-tapping stainless steel screws (available from Safe Tread in a range of matching colours) after following the preparation procedure:
- Always ensure that the screw length is slightly longer than the plug length to obtain a good fixing.
- Fixing is generally recommended at approx. 20mm in from any edge and at a maximum of 400mm centres.
The installer should ensure that the substrate is of sufficient quality to achieve a secure fixing.
Where forklift trucks cross the walkway, extra fixings should be installed at 150mm centres. In any event, if the substrate undulates or is not flat extra fixings should be installed.
Bonding Non-Slip Floor Sheets
Having carried out adhesion tests using various adhesives we would recommend the use of Sataback adhesive sealant for bonding SafeTread Anti-Slip Floor Sheets. Sataback adhesive sealant is suitable for bonding to concrete, wood, metal and steel.
The reputation for Sataback for quality and reliability is virtually unmatched, illustrated through a comprehensive portfolio of problem solving products that have been employed for many years in wide diversity of applications.
Sataback adhesive is also a sealant and will seal around the edge and stop water lying between the floor sheet and the substrate (water will not harm the floor sheet but can affect wood or metal substrates causing rot or rust).
Sataback adhesive sealant also offers a secondary fixing in the event that the mechanical fixing should fail.
Furthermore, use of Sataback will also help eliminate the drumming noise that can be created when fitting onto an existing substrate.

Safety Data Sheet for Sataback adhesive sealant.
Once our preparation guidelines have been followed the floor sheets can be bonded as follows:
- Run a 6mm bead of adhesive around the perimeter of the floor sheet about 15mm in from the edges and cross hatch at about 200mm apart.
- Use hand pressure to bed the floor sheet into position.
- With Sataback adhesive sealant optimum bonding will be obtained around 48 hours after application at 23°c. However, the floor sheets can be walked on a few hours after bonding subject to temperature. We therefore recommend testing first.
We would also recommend the use of mechanical fixing to offer a secondary fixing.
Adhesive Quantity
As an approximate guide, with a 6mm bead 1 x 300 ml tube of Sataback adhesive sealant should be sufficient to bond one 2400mm x 1200mm Safe Tread Anti-Slip Floor Sheet. Sataback adhesive sealant can be purchased from Safe Tread.
Miscellaneous
The installation instructions make no claim to being comprehensive but should be used as a guide. Always employ safe practices. It's recommended that to first test the suitability of any fixing method on a small area before carrying out a full installation programme.
Installation Service
A fitting service is available if required. Please call 01206 227 660 for a quote.
Maintenance
Cleaning Non-Slip Floor Sheets
Use of a stiff brush will usually be sufficient to remove everyday dirt and debris. For more stubborn items a mild detergent can be used with warm water.
Prior to carrying out a full cleaning programme it's advisable to first test the suitability of the detergent on a small inconspicuous area.
Once the cleaning programme has been completed it's important to ensure that any excess water has been removed from the floor sheets surface before it's put back into use.
Pressure Wash
If conditions allow, a pressure washer on a low setting can be used to clean the floor sheet. However, if the floor sheet has been secured with an adhesive agent or sealed with a sealant repeated use of a pressure washer could undermine the integrity of the adhesive / sealant.
Again, prior to carrying out a full cleaning programme it's advisable to first test the suitability of the pressure wash on a small inconspicuous area.
Spillages
Spills should be cleared up immediately. This should occur with consultation of product data sheets and in harmony with the company's own safety procedures.
General Routine Maintenance
The security of any fixings and the integrity of the products gritted surface and GRP substrate should be checked on a regular basis. The frequency of which will depend on the nature and volume of footfall. As a guide, for high traffic areas monthly inspections would be advisable.
